Disclosure is part of the job
Under the FTC Endorsement Guides, anything we give you — a stipend, credits, even a free t-shirt — is a material connection you have to disclose. There is no small-gift exemption. The FTC also says explicitly that “#ambassador” alone is not adequate: a post needs something like #AkiliAmbassador or #AkiliPartner, placed at the start rather than buried in a block of hashtags.
Training you on this and checking that it happens is our obligation, not yours to figure out. It is covered in Level 1 onboarding before you post anything.
Questions students actually ask
- Do I need AI experience to apply?
- No. Training is the first thing the program gives you, and requiring expertise would select for the students who least need it — and shrink the pool at exactly the campuses where the gap is widest.
- Is the ambassador role paid?
- Yes. Level 2 onward carries a monthly stipend plus an event budget you control, and every ambassador gets Akili Pro free while they study. The wage evidence for internships only holds for paid experience, which is why this one is paid.
- How many hours a week does it take?
- About three, across a five-month term running January to May. Cohort 1 takes one or two ambassadors per campus across roughly twenty campuses.
- Do I have to disclose that Akili pays me?
- Yes, and we train you on how. Under the FTC Endorsement Guides even a free t-shirt is a material connection that has to be disclosed. #ambassador on its own is not adequate — use #AkiliAmbassador or #AkiliPartner at the start of a post, not buried in a hashtag block.
