Privacy Policy
How Akili collects, uses, and protects your data — and what we never do with it.
This is the authoritative version of this document for Akili, operated by Ntegral Inc. It applies to the Akili marketing site at akili.io and to the Akili application at app.akili.io.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password (or an OAuth identity token if you sign in with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft). We do not store plaintext passwords.
Usage data
We log the conversations you have with AI models, the agents you create, and the files you upload, so we can deliver the service and let you access your history.
API keys
If you supply third-party API keys (BYOK), they are encrypted at rest using pgcrypto with a server-side passphrase. We never transmit your keys to any party other than the intended AI provider.
Mobile phone number and messaging consent
If you choose to receive SMS messages from Akili, we collect your mobile phone number and information documenting your consent to receive messages, including the consent language presented to you, its version, the date and time of consent, and associated technical information such as IP address and browser information.
How we use your information
Service delivery
Your data is used to operate Akili: routing your messages to AI models, retrieving relevant context from your knowledge base, and returning responses.
No model training
We do not use your conversations, documents, or personal data to train or fine-tune any AI model — including our own or any third-party model.
Analytics
Aggregate, anonymized usage metrics (for example, feature adoption rates) may be collected to improve the platform. These metrics cannot be linked back to individual users.
Data sharing
AI providers
Your messages are forwarded to the AI provider you select (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others) to generate responses. Each provider's own privacy policy governs that data.
No sale of data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Ntegral Inc., our users, or the public.
Mobile information is excluded from every sharing category above
The data-sharing categories described in this Privacy Policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent. Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS messaging and mobile information
Akili Security Messaging Program
Akili uses your mobile phone number to provide transactional and security-related messages that you request or authorize, including phone-number verification, one-time passcodes, multi-factor authentication, sign-in verification, password resets, and account-security notifications. The Akili Security Messaging Program does not send marketing or promotional text messages.
Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared for marketing
We do not share, sell, rent, transfer, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Service providers
We may disclose mobile information to service providers acting on our behalf solely as necessary to provide, deliver, operate, or support the SMS messaging service. These service providers are not permitted to use mobile information or messaging consent for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies based on user-initiated account and security activity, including verification, sign-in, multi-factor authentication, and password-reset requests. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out
You may reply STOP to any Akili SMS message to stop receiving text messages. You may also remove your mobile number in your Akili account settings. After opting out you will receive no further SMS messages unless you opt in again. Opting out may prevent certain phone-based authentication or account-security features from working until you re-enroll. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or see the full SMS Terms.
Data security
Encryption
All data is transmitted over TLS. Sensitive fields such as API keys and credentials are encrypted at rest using pgcrypto, and database backups are encrypted.
Access controls
Access to production infrastructure is restricted to authorized engineers with multi-factor authentication enforced. All access is logged and audited.
Self-hosted deployments
If you self-host Akili, your data never leaves your infrastructure. You are responsible for securing your own deployment environment.
Your rights
Access and export
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you at any time by contacting privacy@ntegral.com.
Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Residual backups are purged within 30 days.
Correction
You may update your name and email address from the Settings page at any time.
